B3 will be hosting Positive Coaching Alliance’s Second Goal Parent Workshop on Sunday, April 6 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at HB. There will also be a swim practice and pizza party for the swimmers from 9:30 – 11:30 so parents can drop their swimmers off at the pool during the workshop. More information is available on the flyer in the post directly below this one. Please RSVP to Sarah Tobin by sending her a short email just confirming your attendance: email@example.com
The workshop will be presented by Ken Harkenrider. To the left is a photo and below is a short bio of Ken:

He currently serves as the Director of Athletics for the high school’s 27 teams and also coaches middle school level soccer teams. Ken served as president of the Midland Athletic Conference from 1997-2002, when Canterbury was a conference member, and has occasionally been on ad hoc committees of the IHSAA in the state of Indiana.
In addition to the school, Ken is on staff with the Indiana Youth Soccer Association, presenting coaching license courses and coordinating the Olympic Development Program for the Northeast Indiana District. He earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1984, where he also won four letters and served as senior team captain for the men’s soccer team.
We are looking forward to seeing you on April 6!
B3 is excited to be bringing Positive Coaching Alliance in to run a 2 hour workshop for sports parents on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.. We will run swim practice at the same time so bring your swimmers too!
Please RSVP to Sarah Tobin – firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, April 2.
This two hour workshop explores the three stages of talent development and allows parents to share their ideas about what they want their children to get out of youth sports. Parents gain insight into the training the coaches are receiving (have received) to become “Double-Goal” Coaches (coaches who want to win AND develop the character of their players). We hope to see you all there!

There are 60 seconds in 1 minute and 60 minutes in an hour. One hour is 3600 seconds. Three hours are 10,800 seconds. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of B3 swimmers, parents, and coaches, over the last year, B3 swimmers have dropped (improved by) over 10,800 seconds. On average, 109 B3 swimmers dropped 99 seconds each. Impressive!
We are celebrating our achievement of this goal with some help from the Lake Erie Swimming Club Incentive Program with t-shirts for all current B3 swimmers who have competed in a swim meet this season. Congratulations to all and thank you for your ongoing support of B3!
